Why is your price so much  higher (or lower) than other quotes we received?

We build one off, handcrafted custom made homes we really care about what we build and only want to deliver the best. We like to think we build something which is unique in terms of quality and finish.

Something to remember about the Log home industry is:  There are no industry wide standards. At least not ones that are enforced.  Each individual company has its own way of building;  its own " system ". We all look the same on the surface, but if you look closer, you can find differences, some of them significant ! In its simplest terms there are 3 different pricing levels in our industry: low, middle and high  and basically speaking the amount of detailing and care your project will receive is directly  related to which price level the builder you choose  operates in.   Many builders  have   chosen to compete on price, they streamline their system to reduce their costs and they focus on volume.  Their product is not "bad"  it just doesn't get as much attention to detail. The other end of the scale is "High end" builders.  These companies focus on "attention  to detail" and their work is more like art.  While we may admire some of the craftsmanship, many of their methods are very slow and the result is a rather "pricey" product. We have been in this business for over 20 years and we are familiar with most of the different systems in use.  We have tried to take the good points from both extremes and combine them to produce what we believe to be a quite good product at a reasonable price.   We honestly believe in our system and we build every house as though it were our own.

 When choosing a builder, the most important consideration should be whether or not you feel comfortable with him or her, have you seen some of their work ? Do you like the style of work they do ? Were they easy to talk to ? Were they helpful in answering your questions? You will be working closely with this person for several months and you will be entrusting them  with your "dream" and together, you will be making decisions  worth many thousands of pounds.
